Experiences with Art Integration:
Perspectives from Preservice Educators
2016 Ohio Art Educators Association conference; Greater Cincinnati, Nov. 3-5, 2016
Facilitated by: Drs. Stephanie Baer & Stephanie Danker, Assistant Professors of Art Education
This presentation featured a panel of pre-service art educators who spent a semester engaging in a non-art teacher's classroom in an elementary school. Their instructors from both Art Across the Curriculum and Professional Dispositions in Art Education courses at Miami University described connections made as they journeyed through two semesters considering arts integration and the transition from student to teacher. Each student presenter used a Pecha Kucha method to present their experience and reflect both on the art integration experience as well as the professional experience of presentation.
